DXS SECURES INNOVATE UK GRANT TO ADVANCE EXPERTCARE

 DXS SMART REFERRAL

Enhancing Prescribing Efficacy

February 2024

In an exciting development that marks a significant step forward in medicine prescribing optimisation, DXS is pleased to announce its success in securing grant funding from Innovate UK for further research and development of its hypertension-prescribing solution, ExpertCare.

The Innovate UK grant, renowned for its rigorous selection process and support for pioneering projects, will enable DXS to accelerate its efforts in advancing ExpertCare, a product promising to significantly enhance medicine optimisation.

With the grant in hand, DXS has embarked on an exciting journey. The funds channelled into intensive research, prototyping, and testing will pave the way for ExpertCare’s progress and route to market.

The Innovate UK / DXS ExpertCare research and development project (funded for 18-months) will consist of two primary elements:

  • A comprehensive cost-to-benefit analysis in the form of a real-world evaluation led by the Health Innovation East Academic Health Sciences Network to evaluate ExpertCare's utility within a clinical environment. The evaluation will include an analysis of user experience and patient/public engagement.
  • The second element of the project is the development and prototyping of two additional CVD-related long-term condition algorithms, namely one for diabetes and another for hypercholesterolemia, together with common relevant comorbidities.

“This is an important step forward for DXS. It would not have been possible without the support of the entire DXS team who all in one way or the other have significantly contributed to ExpertCare’s development and the awarding of this grant” – David Immelman, CEO of DXS Systems.
